SA defence industry to benefit from $7.9 million investment in innovative technologies
Daronmont Technologies Pty Ltd has been awarded a $7,947,000 contract through the Defence Innovation Hub to develop their technology in support of the Australian Defence Force.
The company will develop Prototype Radar Capability, with the majority of work being undertaken in South Australia at its operations based at Mawson Lakes, located in the Federal Electoral Division of Makin.
The project aims to build a prototype radar capability that could be used to replace existing technology used by Defence that is approaching end of life.
Senator David Fawcett said this significant investment in the Australian industry and innovation sector will ensure Defence has access to leading-edge technology.
“It will support a number of local jobs in northern Adelaide and will continue to keep our defence industry engaged in developing the latest technologies for Australia’s defence,” Senator Fawcett said.
“The Defence Innovation Hub is a great initiative that allows suppliers in Adelaide to support our Defence Force and develop leading edge intellectual property.”
“We need to ensure that we maximise opportunities for Australian industry to contribute to our capability needs,” Senator Fawcett said.
Industry and research organisations can continue to submit proposals through the Defence Innovation Portal at www.business.gov.au/cdic.
