New learning areas for students at Calvary Lutheran Primary School
Primary school students at Calvary Lutheran Primary School in Morphett Vale will benefit from refurbished learning areas and a new verandah thanks to $630,000 in funding from the Federal Government.
Senator for South Australia David Fawcett officially opened the new facility today, on behalf of the Minister for Education Dan Tehan.
“It was great to visit Calvary Lutheran Primary School and see the new facilities and the impact they will have on students’ learning potential,” Senator Fawcett said.
Senator Fawcett said students and the whole school community would benefit from these new facilities, with the school and its community contributing $495,000 toward the total project cost.
“These new learning spaces take into account the latest in educational research and will see students learn more effectively.
“Since coming to Government in 2013, the Federal Liberal Government has increased funding for education by over 60%, which has meant increased funding each and every year.
“Our Government has also allocated $1.4 billion in funding towards South Australian schools in 2019 which will ensure teachers have the support they need to prepare students for their future.
“We have also demonstrated our ongoing commitment to the future of young Australians by continuing to invest in tertiary education including $17.7 billion for Australian Universities and the creation of an additional 20,800 South Australian apprenticeships.”
