Jobs on offer at Adelaide North Jobs Fair
Job seekers in Adelaide’s north will be able to access a one-stop employment shop at the Morrison Government’s jobs fair to be held in Modbury on Wednesday 10 November.
Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, said the jobs fair would allow employers and employment service providers to speak directly with job seekers about opportunities available and the skills needed for those jobs.
‘The Australian Government is committed to connecting job seekers with businesses looking to hire, as we continue our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,’ Minister Robert said.
‘Creating jobs and boosting the skills of Australians to help them get back into work is at the heart of our Economic Recovery Plan.
‘There will be more than 2,000 jobs on offer at the fair, including in aged and disability care, tourism and hospitality, and manufacturing and construction, which will play a key role in securing our future economic prosperity.’
Assistant Minister for Youth and Employment Services, the Hon Luke Howarth MP, said the jobs fair will help employers and job seekers to capitalise on the Adelaide North Employment Region’s economic diversity.
‘The region will account for a big slice of Adelaide’s future residential development. Its continued growth will also bring new opportunities in the child and aged care industries,’ Assistant Minister Howarth said.
‘We encourage job seekers to attend the Jobs Fair as they will hear first-hand from employers about what they look for when hiring. This fair will also give jobs seekers the opportunity to meet people and network.’
Senator the Hon David Fawcett said the Australian Government’s ongoing commitment to creating more jobs will set Australia up for future prosperity.
‘Our Government is investing in our plan to connect local job seekers with work will help Australia bounce back stronger than ever after the COVID-19 pandemic,’ Senator Fawcett said.
‘Adelaide North recently benefitted from the $276 million Local Jobs Program’s Local Recovery Fund. More importantly, the employment profile of the Adelaide North Employment Region has shifted significantly over the past 10 years. Thanks to the $270bn investment in Defence capabilities to protect Australia, there is significant growth in industries such as defence and advanced manufacturing. Agri-business, food manufacturing, health and aged care, and residential construction have all grown in this region as well.’
The Adelaide North Jobs Fair will take place at Sfera’s Park Suites and Convention Centre, 191 Reservoir Rd, Modbury on Wednesday 10 November. It is free with sessions from 10 am to 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm to 4 pm.
